Palantir is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join its Finance organization in London. This role sits within the Revenue Team and supports the company’s broader mission by helping ensure that revenue is recognized accurately, processes run smoothly, and financial reporting remains reliable. The Finance function is described as a group that supports employees across the business with both everyday operations and practical problem-solving, and this position plays an important part in that work.
In this role, you would take ownership of revenue accounting for a portfolio of customers and manage the quote-to-cash process from an accounting and operational perspective. You would work closely with Deal and Finance colleagues to make sure transactions progress efficiently and correctly, while also serving as a key contributor to the global revenue close. The position calls for someone who is collaborative, eager to learn, and highly attentive to detail, with strong organizational, operational, and communication skills.
What you would do
- Manage the revenue recognition workflow from the point a contract is closed out through final financial statement disclosure.
- Oversee month-end close activities for revenue and cost of revenue, including building and checking accruals, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, confirming compliance with policy, and producing standard reporting.
- Review complex revenue transactions and help refine the company’s revenue recognition policies as business needs change.
- Apply sound judgment to accounting decisions and document those conclusions in technical memoranda that follow internal policy and current software revenue recognition guidance.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to help audits move forward efficiently and effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue-related processes and help drive changes in systems, reporting, and analysis.
- Work with Finance and Sales leadership on revenue forecasting activities.
- Contribute to the broader global revenue close process as a core member of the team.
- Communicate accounting and operational matters clearly to management, including the ability to summarize key issues in a concise and useful way.
What the company is looking for
- Practical experience applying ASC 606, especially in the context of enterprise software-as-a-service businesses.
- At least three years of experience gained either in a large public accounting firm or in a small to mid-sized enterprise software company.
- A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or a related subject.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using NetSuite or another revenue recognition accounting platform.
- CPA or ACCA/ACA credentials are preferred, but the role is open to candidates without them.
- The ability to explain accounting and operational issues to management in a clear and structured way.
- A team-oriented approach, a willingness to keep learning, and a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
Working style and environment
Palantir says it values in-person collaboration because it believes working together in the office leads to better creative outcomes. Many teams offer a hybrid setup that allows employees to work from home one or two days each week, helping people balance productivity and flexibility. A small number of roles may be approved for remote work in exceptional circumstances, but those roles require the employee to work from the city or country where they are employed. If a role is designated onsite, the employee is expected to work from an office.
The company also describes its approach to employee growth as one that focuses on individual strengths, skills, and interests rather than relying on traditional career ladders. It says it aims to create multiple paths for success and invests in employee health and wellbeing, with benefits that can vary by region.
Additional information
Palantir states that it is committed to making the hiring process accessible and will provide reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities who need support during the application or interview process. It also warns candidates that they will never be asked to make a payment or provide financial information as part of interviewing, and advises anyone who suspects fraud to stop communicating and report the matter to the appropriate authorities.
Applications are submitted through the company’s application process using the Apply link on the posting.
