Global Tax Services is looking for a detail-focused tax manager who can combine tax expertise, data management capability, and systems knowledge. The role sits at the intersection of tax, finance, operations, engineering, and data, and is intended for someone who is comfortable working with complex information environments, improving processes, and helping shape new ways of working. The team is growing, and this position is suited to someone who wants to learn tax technology, work through ambiguity, and contribute to both existing and newly designed tax processes.
What you will do
- Reconcile very large datasets used for tax calculation and reporting, making sure the information stays accurate and consistent from the original source systems through any transformations and into the final outputs.
- Create, configure, and maintain business rules for tax reporting across several jurisdictions, ensuring that the mathematical logic matches the tax engine and invoicing requirements.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of tax-related data flows, identify where data is missing or incomplete, resolve those gaps, and confirm that reporting requirements are met and system output fields are correct.
- Partner with the business on new corporate initiatives by connecting technical teams such as engineering and data with business stakeholders in tax, finance, and operations, helping shape interim solutions and scalable long-term implementations.
- Use a strong understanding of tax compliance principles and reporting obligations across jurisdictions to support the team’s work, including areas such as VAT and GST.
- Investigate discrepancies and data quality issues, then validate that information remains reliable across complicated system landscapes.
- Support change management activities when new systems or process changes are introduced, helping the organization adopt and implement them successfully.
- Contribute to improving current tax processes and help define new ones as the team continues to grow.
What the role requires
- Deep familiarity with global tax compliance concepts and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical ability to compare, reconcile, and validate large datasets while protecting data integrity.
- Practical knowledge of accounting principles, accounting workflows, and accounting entries.
- Prior experience in a large public accounting firm or in the tax department of a multinational organization.
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Office tools.
- Comfort working in ambiguous situations and a willingness to learn tax technology and improve operational processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders in both technical and non-technical roles.
- Experience helping manage change associated with new system implementations.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Preferred technical experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or another database language.
- Preferred experience working with customers, technical teams, regulatory groups, business teams, and management to gather requirements and explain product features or technical designs.
- Preferred background delivering results on large cross-functional initiatives or using process-improvement approaches such as Kaizen or Six Sigma.
- Preferred experience building strategic relationships and collaborating effectively across teams and functions.
