This is an office-based role and can be located in either London or Manchester.

- Support the planning, coordination, and communication of business initiatives that involve VAT and other tax dependencies.
- Evaluate risks and opportunities, using good judgment to help shape decisions that may have financial, operational, and customer-facing consequences.
- Work in partnership with finance, business, and technology teams, and prepare well-structured documentation that explains analyses, decisions, and conclusions.
- Influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different functions.
- Assist with discussions and workstreams involving external advisers and tax authorities.
What Amazon is looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related subject.
- Experience gained either in a large public accounting firm or in the tax department of a multinational organisation.
- Advanced capability with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of complex EU VAT legislation and practical application.
- The ability to understand Amazon’s business model and systems in depth and to manage projects independently.
- A track record of working effectively under pressure and meeting challenging deadlines.
- Strong people skills, with the ability to translate technical VAT issues into straightforward business requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence engaging both tax professionals and colleagues outside tax.
- Preferred technical experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or another database language.
