AWS is looking for a sales leader to help shape a newly created startup-focused function in the UKI region. The role sits within AWS Global Sales and is aimed at driving cloud adoption among startup prospects and customers. What you will do

  • Lead and grow a high-performing, diverse team of Central Sales Representatives focused on the startup market.
  • Ensure the team works effectively with specialist and technical partners to deliver account management designed for startup customers.
  • Collaborate with area and segment leaders to build and execute plans that support area, segment, and account-level priorities.
  • Coach team members on performance, sales execution, operational discipline, pipeline management, and overall sales strategy.
  • Support the career development of the team by actively managing growth, capability building, and performance improvement.
  • Drive increased consumption of both existing and newly introduced AWS services across startup prospects and customers.
  • Contribute to broader functional and segment initiatives by taking on stretch assignments at the EMEA level.
  • Help establish and shape a new function that is being built from the ground up for startups.

What AWS is looking for

  • Substantial experience leading sales teams in technology-related sales or a comparable business development setting.
  • At least 10 years of sales experience overall, with no less than 5 years spent managing people.
  • Strong coaching capability, especially in areas such as pipeline management, deal support, and sales best practices.
  • Experience engaging with a broad set of customer stakeholders, including founders, senior business leaders, and technical teams.
  • Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities that support the function and the wider EMEA segment.
  • Preferred: a technical academic or professional background in engineering, computer science, or MIS, along with a management qualification such as an MBA.
  • Preferred: direct experience with startups, the startup ecosystem, and cloud services.
  • Preferred: experience building new teams, products, or business functions from scratch.
