Payments Program Manager, Payments Business Operations-Partner Management Overview

Company Name Amazon
Job Role Payments Program Manager, Payments Business Operations-Partner Management
Qualifications Not Specified
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

The Payments Program Manager role sits within Amazon’s Payments Business Operations function and focuses on making partner programs run smoothly, supporting international growth, and managing the onboarding of payment partners. The position is based in Berlin or London and centers on owning partner relationships and programs from end to end. In practice, that means identifying operational issues, driving them to resolution, uncovering new opportunities, and pushing for improvements that strengthen both partner performance and the customer checkout experience.

This is a highly hands-on role. The successful candidate will work through escalations, analyze data to understand root causes, and bring together teams across the business to land durable solutions. The same analytical approach is also used to identify opportunities for expansion, whether that means entering new geographies, adding new payment methods, or improving processes so the operation can scale more efficiently.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of the daily management of assigned payment partner programs and serve as the main operational contact for those partners.
  • Set up and maintain governance routines for partners, including quarterly reviews, scorecards, escalation management, and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Watch partner health indicators closely and work with both external partners and internal stakeholders to improve performance where needed.
  • Coordinate dependencies across Product, Technology, Legal, Finance, and Compliance so that programs stay aligned and progress without unnecessary blockers.
  • Use data analysis and conversations with stakeholders to uncover friction in payment acceptance and partner operations.
  • Manage operational issues from beginning to end by collecting evidence, diagnosing the root cause, arranging remediation, and ensuring the issue is fully closed out.
  • Develop business cases for improvements, define what is needed, and advocate for solutions with partner teams and internal leaders.
  • Prepare clear, data-backed updates for senior stakeholders covering program status, risks, and escalations.
  • Lead the onboarding of new international payment partners and payment methods, taking them from scoping through launch while meeting milestones and service commitments.
  • Drive expansion work across countries and products, including technical integration coordination and commercial readiness across markets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payment acceptance, reduce cost, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Create and continuously improve scalable processes for managing the partner lifecycle, from initial evaluation through steady-state operations.
