Worldwide Specialist Solutions Architect Analytics, Messaging Services, Data AI GTM Overview

Company Name Amazon
Job Role Worldwide Specialist Solutions Architect Analytics, Messaging Services, Data AI GTM
Qualifications Not Specified
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

This role is focused on helping customers design and modernize messaging and event-driven systems in the cloud. The work centers on building resilient, scalable architectures that support asynchronous communication, real-time notifications, microservices decoupling, and migrations away from legacy on-premises message brokers. The position is highly specialized rather than generalist, with deep emphasis on Amazon’s messaging portfolio and the wider ecosystem around it.

What you will do

  • Act as the primary technical advisor for EMEA customers working on messaging and event-driven architecture initiatives.
  • Assess customer requirements and design solutions using Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, Amazon MQ, and related services such as EventBridge and Kinesis.
  • Support customers moving from on-premises messaging platforms including RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, and TIBCO to AWS-managed services.
  • Develop and share reference architectures, reusable patterns, and best-practice guidance for pub/sub, point-to-point, fan-out, and event-driven integration designs.
  • Work with AWS service teams to communicate customer feedback and field observations that can inform product direction and roadmap decisions.
  • Produce technical content that builds credibility and awareness in the messaging space, including blog posts, workshops, conference sessions at re:Invent, and whitepapers.
  • Collaborate with account teams and other specialists to identify opportunities tied to messaging and event-driven workloads and help accelerate adoption of AWS solutions.
  • Engage with open-source communities and help customers evaluate when a managed service is preferable to a self-hosted approach.

What the team is like

You would join a specialist group that focuses on solving real customer problems in depth. The team shares knowledge openly, contributes to the broader technical community, and acts as a bridge between product teams and field teams. The environment is described as one where curiosity, collaboration, and technical depth are highly valued.

AWS also describes its wider culture as one that welcomes different career paths and experiences. Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not match every preferred qualification, including those whose backgrounds are non-linear or unconventional.

Experience and qualifications

  • Experience in architecture or systems engineering.
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated technical concepts effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing technical specialist position.
  • Practical experience designing, operating, or supporting messaging and event-driven systems in production, such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, Amazon SQS/SNS, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with cloud service implementation, including migration and modernization projects, is desirable.
  • Experience designing or architecting systems with attention to design patterns, reliability, and scaling is desirable.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Amazon MQ, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, and AWS EventBridge is desirable.
  • Knowledge of messaging protocols such as AMQP, MQTT, STOMP, and JMS, along with their trade-offs, is desirable.
  • Contributions to open-source messaging projects or technical community activities such as blog writing, conference speaking, or workshop delivery are desirable.
  • Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not satisfy every preferred qualification.

The company also highlights an inclusive culture, including employee-led affinity groups and ongoing learning experiences.
