Amazon’s Brand Innovation Lab is seeking a highly creative conceptual art director to help shape distinctive campaigns for a broad range of brands across its European markets. This is a permanent position based in London, and the work centers on building memorable customer experiences both online and offline by using Amazon’s advertising and media surfaces in inventive ways. The role sits within Amazon Ads’ Innovation team, which develops original campaigns and activations for global advertisers.

You will work across the full creative process, from early ideation through launch, turning briefs, business needs, and audience constraints into ambitious campaign ideas that are both strategically grounded and visually compelling. The position calls for someone who is equally comfortable developing concepts and bringing them to life through polished execution, with work that may include video, interface design for voice and screen, interaction concepts, prototypes, and interactive advertising. A major focus of the role is Amazon’s partnerships and sponsorships offering, so experience or interest in that area is especially relevant.

What you will do

  • Develop original campaign concepts and art direction for global brands, with a focus on innovation, customer value, and strong results.
  • Design and execute advertising experiences across a wide range of formats and channels, including film, print, digital, social, out-of-home, experiential, and radio.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, program managers, developers, strategists, producers, and solutions managers to create customer-focused work that also meets advertiser objectives.
  • Lead projects independently from brief to delivery while coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners.
  • Use customer insight and data to inform campaign strategy, creative direction, and the visual identity of experiences.
  • Create concepts and designs for Amazon touchpoints such as Prime Video, Alexa, Twitch, Fire TV, custom landing pages, and other Amazon surfaces.
  • Develop templates, prototypes, interaction models, and other creative assets for brand campaigns that have not been done before.
  • Present ideas, creative thinking, and work-in-progress updates to clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review feedback, refine work, and ensure the final output meets a very high creative standard.
  • Handle several projects at once while keeping work on budget and on schedule.
  • Contribute proactively by developing new products, campaign ideas, and customer-led opportunities.

What the role looks like day to day

  • Working with brands, media partners, and creative agencies on innovative campaigns in sectors such as automotive, finance, energy, and telecommunications.
  • Designing brand experiences that can range from documentary-style content in Prime Video to branded Alexa experiences.
  • Pitching campaign ideas to brand clients and their agency partners.
  • Reviewing edits and work in progress with collaborators, then incorporating feedback to maintain the highest creative quality.
  • Supporting proactive team initiatives and helping bring new ideas to life.

About the team

The Brand Innovation Lab is part of Amazon Ads and focuses on creating one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for global advertisers. The team uses the full Amazon canvas, including custom landing pages, Alexa, Fire TV, Twitch, Prime Video, and more, to build campaigns that can reach millions of customers across digital channels and in the real world. This team works specifically on Prime Video intellectual property and brands, developing co-branded full-funnel campaigns.

What you need

  • Experience creating compelling creative strategy and execution in an agency or in-house creative environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, plus a basic understanding of UX design and UX tools such as Webflow, or an interest in learning Webflow.
  • Excellent presentation skills, strong interactive storytelling ability, and the ability to stay organized while collaborating effectively with others.
  • A portfolio that shows highly creative, award-winning campaign work and ideas that solve customer and advertiser problems across multiple media.
  • Strong conceptual thinking combined with the ability to produce high-quality design and art direction.
  • Digital media experience, strategic thinking, and an insight-led approach to creative development.
  • Strong storytelling, communication, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • The ability to generate ideas for a wide range of media, including video, social, digital activations, radio, and outdoor advertising.

Preferred experience

  • Familiarity with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Keynote.
  • Experience working with product, consumer research, and marketing teams to turn insights into creative strategy and execution.
  • Experience leading creative work from concept through delivery.
  • Experience presenting creative ideas to senior executives.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and working to aggressive deadlines.
  • Experience creating campaign concepts and executions for brand partnerships and sponsorships.
