Technical Specialist, Claude Code Overview

Company Name Anthropic
Job Role Technical Specialist, Claude Code
Qualifications Not Specified
Category General Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

This role is a post-sale technical position focused on helping customers turn a purchase of Claude into everyday, sustained use across their teams. The work is centered on being the technical person customers and internal account teams rely on when conversations become complex, especially around adoption, deployment, security, identity, and practical implementation. It is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building software, communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and helping customers get unstuck in real time.

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary technical lead in customer-facing interactions across the post-sale lifecycle, including onboarding sessions, developer hackathons, live troubleshooting, executive security reviews, and adoption working sessions.
  • Work alongside customer success managers as the technical counterpart they bring into conversations whenever the discussion requires deeper engineering or product expertise.
  • Design, build, and deliver functioning software such as Claude Code plugins, agents, sub-agents, MCP integrations, and Cowork skills, using these both as customer-specific deliverables and as reusable assets for the field organization.
  • Help customers adopt the Claude Code features that drive long-term usage, including sub-agents, skills, hooks, MCP, headless mode, and managed settings, and rapidly convert new product capabilities into demos and guidance that can be used by the field team within days of release.
  • Own enterprise deployment and identity discussions, including SSO implementation with SAML or OIDC, SCIM provisioning, and the design of roles, seats, spend limits, sandboxes, and permission structures.
  • Engage credibly with CISOs and security architects on governance, security, and enterprise control topics.
  • Support customers running production workloads on the Anthropic API as well as on Bedrock and Vertex, partnering closely with Applied AI to help diagnose issues and remove blockers.
  • Plan and deliver enablement that helps users become active daily developers, adapting the approach for audiences ranging from senior staff engineers to business users who are new to AI.
  • Build customer champions who can continue driving adoption after your direct engagement ends.
  • Represent Anthropic at customer all-hands meetings and builder-focused events.
  • Collect, structure, and communicate field feedback back to the Claude Code and Cowork product teams so customer needs inform product direction.
  • Collaborate closely with CSMs, Applied AI, security specialists, Product Support, Engineering, and Sales, acting as the technical connective layer across the account.

What the company is looking for

  • You have shipped real software and can speak confidently about the engineering choices behind what you built.
  • You have used Claude Code or another comparable AI coding tool yourself.
  • You are comfortable being the technical voice in front of senior developers, IT and security leaders, and non-technical stakeholders, even when those audiences are mixed together in the same meeting.
  • You remain calm, useful, and solution-oriented when a live customer situation breaks down or becomes messy.
  • You are comfortable stepping into ambiguous customer problems and shaping a practical solution while the situation is still unfolding.
  • You are motivated by service and genuinely enjoy helping colleagues or customers get unblocked.
  • You are willing to travel and should expect regular time on site with customers.
  • You think carefully about responsible AI use and have hands-on experience building with LLMs in a way that is effective and appropriate for organizations of different sizes and types.
  • You should have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Your education or background should be relevant to the role, whether through formal study, training, or professional experience.
  • The exact experience level depends on the internal level assigned to the position.
  • The application process asks whether you are currently based in London or open to relocating there.
  • The application process also asks whether you can work from the London office two to three days per week.
  • The application asks whether you have several years of customer-facing technical experience, such as solutions architecture, sales engineering, developer relations, or a similar function, together with hands-on engineering or building experience.
  • The application asks whether you have designed and delivered technical workshops, talks, or training for senior engineering audiences such as platform engineers, ML or AI teams, or enterprise security architects.
  • The application asks whether you have personally built and shipped an application using a large language model, such as through the Claude Developer Platform, Claude Code, or another comparable LLM API or agentic framework.
  • The application asks you to briefly describe one LLM-powered application you have built, including what it did, which model or API you used, and your role in shipping it.
  • The application asks whether you need visa sponsorship now or in the future to work in the country where the role is located.

Helpful experience

  • Deep practical experience with enterprise identity systems, including SAML, OIDC, and SCIM, across major identity providers such as Okta, Entra ID, Ping, and Google Workspace, is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with security review and compliance processes such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and FedRAMP is also valuable.
  • Experience supporting or deploying workloads on Bedrock, Vertex, or multi-cloud LLM environments is a plus.
  • Experience working with regulated customers in financial services, healthcare, or the public sector is desirable.
  • Experience delivering work with SI or GSI partners is helpful.
  • A visible record of public technical communication, such as videos, short-form social content, blogs, talks, workshops, courses, written content, or seminars, is valued.
  • Background in pre-sales solutions, post-sales, support, implementation, or technical account roles is considered relevant and useful.
