This role sits within Amazon Logistics and focuses on building and improving the last-mile delivery network across Europe. The teamâs mission is to create a world-class delivery operation that gets customer orders delivered quickly, accurately, and cost effectively. In this position, you will join the European Amazon Logistics engineering group as an experienced, hands-on process engineer who is comfortable driving standardization, introducing new technologies, and proposing innovative improvements for delivery stations.
You will be responsible for both designing new delivery stations and improving existing ones. The work combines process optimization, layout design, automation integration, and network standardization. You will partner closely with local operations teams and other support functions, and you will act as a key contact for the country and area you support. The role calls for strong customer focus, self-motivation, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage projects across multiple stakeholders. It also requires regular communication with sponsors and customers at both country and European level, plus frequent domestic travel. You will report to the manager of the Design Engineering team for the country you support.
What you will do
- Take delivery station design projects from early planning through execution, including the introduction of automation and other technology.
- Lead redesign and upgrade work for legacy sites, improving layouts, processes, and operational performance.
- Own layout integration and optimization work for assigned delivery stations as part of EU-wide technology and standardization programs.
- Help spread effective practices across the European network so that sites can benefit from shared learning and consistent standards.
- Use process engineering knowledge to define how materials should flow through the site, where conveyors and equipment should be placed, and what real-estate implications arise from process needs.
- Identify opportunities for strategic improvements and lead initiatives that enhance station design and operating processes.
- Influence and engage key stakeholders to move improvement projects forward.
- Work with operations, design and construction, launch and expansion, and safety partners to deliver new sites and improve existing ones.
- Create strong layouts for new launches, refine existing station designs, and present recommendations to leadership for approval.
- Support automation efforts that bring new technologies into older stations.
- Develop mechanisms and inventive solutions that help solve complex design problems and improve station performance.
- Serve as the main point of contact for your assigned geography and coordinate with local and broader support teams.
- Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including project sponsors and customers at both country and European level.
- Travel frequently within the country as part of the role.
