The position is based in Broughton, Flintshire, in the United Kingdom, and is presented at consultant/senior consultant level within the engineering business unit. The work combines technical design assessment, coordination across multiple stakeholders, and careful control of engineering data and documentation.
What you will do

- Manage non-conformities and concessions, including carrying out design assessments and validating the proposed technical response.
- Provide design liaison and design-for-manufacture support, including early investigations such as QSR, DQN, and WQN, and help support achievement of the green quality gate.
- Check concession submissions to confirm that the information is complete, technically sound, and accurate.
- Review departures from drawings, specifications, standards, and process requirements to determine the right engineering disposition.
- Work closely with the quality function to resolve questions and clarifications linked to non-conformances.
- Coordinate with different internal teams to identify the most suitable repair solution while taking account of cost, schedule, performance, and installation constraints.
- Partner with supply chain colleagues to confirm whether rare repair fasteners are available before the final disposition is agreed.
- Issue disposition decisions such as use as is, repair, rework, scrap, or return to supplier.
- Identify repeated defects or recurring issues and escalate them so corrective action can be implemented.

- Design special parts where needed to resolve a non-conformity.
- Review concessions and advise whether a design change request should be raised when the underlying issue is design-related.
- Maintain engineering records, deliverables, and supporting documentation in line with quality and configuration management requirements.
- Contribute to digital continuity initiatives and help improve the way design and communication processes operate.
- Act as a technical contact for coordination between onsite and offshore teams, including answering queries, clarifying RTT items, and handling technical escalations.

- Previous experience handling aerospace concessions.
- Working knowledge of the documentation and standards used in the role, including acceptance criteria, installation instructions, tool guidance such as VPM, ASR, and SAP, suffix and ASR usage, and specific guidance such as flushness requirements.

- Knowledge of aerospace design principles and airworthiness expectations.
- Familiarity with metallic and composite design principles.
- Understanding of aerospace design processes and procedures such as RSDP, SIDP, AP, ABD, AIPI, and AIPS.

- Ability to work with the listed tools and systems, including CATIAv5, SAP (PAC/PEA), PASS, Zamiz, PRIMES, GEMAVICC, GILDA, COLINA, TREND, VPM, and AIRNav.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working across quality, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and offshore teams.
- Attention to detail when reviewing technical data, documentation, and engineering dispositions.
- Experience level suitable for a senior consultant position in aerospace engineering.
