What you will do

  • Turn legal and regulatory obligations into clear, workable requirements for compliance, business, product, and engineering teams.
  • Advise on compliance programs and internal policies so the company can reduce legal and regulatory exposure.
  • Handle discussions with government bodies and regulators, including negotiations and disclosures connected to compliance readiness efforts.
  • Contribute as part of a global legal team that provides competition-law expertise to internal teams and external audiences such as regulators and academics.
  • Interpret laws and regulations, work with stakeholders across the company to manage risk, and help explain compliance positions externally.

What the role involves

The position is described as a corporate counsel role for someone who can think strategically, work through ambiguous issues, and influence others effectively. Minimum qualifications

  • A JD, LL.B., an equivalent law degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance work, including work to address, reduce, and avoid regulatory risk.
  • Experience in competition or antitrust legal practice, including work involving digital markets regulation.
  • Experience working with regulators, including the European Commission, the UK Competition and Markets Authority, and competition authorities globally.
  • Admission to the bar in good standing, or another form of legal authorization to practice in the jurisdiction where the role is located, such as registered in-house status.

Preferred qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience in legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance work focused on reducing regulatory risk.
  • Experience building, reviewing, and maintaining compliance programs that help products meet laws, regulations, and external commitments.
  • Experience working with public company boards and their legal advisers, including special committees and audit committees.
  • Experience managing projects and working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive mindset and a strong commitment to integrity and high standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with solid time management, problem-solving, and investigative abilities.
