Arm is looking for experienced and highly capable engineers to join its Agile driver development group, where the team builds important components for the next generation of Mali products. The role sits within a collaborative environment that works closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across Armâs European design centres, with regular interaction between software engineers, hardware engineers, and architects.
This position focuses on the design, development, and ongoing improvement of critical tooling that supports the full GPU development journey at Arm. The work spans early hardware design and performance modelling through to final verification, giving the successful candidate the chance to help shape the software infrastructure behind Armâs widely used GPU technology. The role involves ownership of advanced software systems operating at the intersection of GPU hardware, driver stacks, performance modelling, and real-time data analysis.
What you will do
- Contribute to the design and implementation of reliable, scalable tools that support GPU driver development and hardware bring-up.
- Take part in technical discussions where complex problems are analysed, broken down, and resolved by choosing the most appropriate trade-offs.
- Review designs and code, while coordinating with colleagues across functions to ensure integrations are strong and of high quality.
- Build a detailed understanding of system-level needs and use technical insight to help inform roadmap planning.
- Work across software and hardware teams to deliver solutions that are both innovative and grounded in practical engineering needs.
- Support the Agile driver development team in delivering key elements for future Mali products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Armâs European design centres, including specialists in software, hardware, and architecture.
What Arm is looking for
- Proven technical ability in demanding software projects, ideally in systems or embedded development.
- Strong programming experience in C and C++, along with a solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and performance profiling skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across organisational boundaries.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation or support tooling would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of computer architecture, particularly embedded systems or SoC platforms, would be beneficial.
- Understanding of the GPU graphics pipeline would be helpful.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel and user-space interfaces, plus tools such as perf and tracepoints, would be an advantage.
What you can expect in return
In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence and contribute to the next generation of Mali and Immortalis GPUs, helping technology that reaches millions of devices for years to come. Arm describes this as a strong learning opportunity for someone who wants to build expertise in a friendly and collaborative setting.
You will join a multinational, energetic software development team with a strong work ethic, where colleagues support one another while tackling interesting and technically challenging problems. If you enjoy building high-quality, high-performance software and solving complex engineering issues, Arm would like to hear from you.
