This role sits within Google Cloud Consulting and is focused on hands-on delivery of advanced AI solutions for customers. The position is for an engineer who can work directly inside customer environments, helping move AI from experimental prototypes into reliable production systems. Rather than acting only as an advisor, the role requires someone who can build, debug, and ship custom agentic solutions alongside customers and internal teams.
The work is aimed at solving the practical barriers that often stop enterprise AI projects from succeeding, including integration complexity, incomplete or messy data, and state-management challenges. The successful candidate will help customers deploy sophisticated AI systems, while also feeding real-world lessons back into Google Cloud so those insights can shape future product development.
This is a customer-facing technical role for someone with strong engineering depth, a high degree of ownership, and the ability to operate in ambiguous situations. It is especially suited to an engineer who enjoys building production systems, working closely with stakeholders, and turning frontier AI capabilities into business outcomes.
What you will do
- Work as an embedded engineer with customers, helping connect Google Cloud AI products to real-world production environments.
- Build complex AI applications and evolve them from fast prototypes into production-ready agentic workflows, including multi-agent systems and MCP servers.
- Develop the technical integration between Google’s AI stack and customer infrastructure, such as APIs, legacy data sources, and security controls.
- Create evaluation and monitoring frameworks that measure the quality, safety, and latency of agentic systems.
- Help remove blockers to production by addressing integration issues, data readiness gaps, and state-management problems.
- Spot repeated patterns and pain points from customer work and translate them into reusable components or product improvement requests for engineering teams.
- Collaborate with pre-sales and product partners to promote strong engineering practices and support long-term customer adoption.
- Act as a bridge between customer deployments and Google Cloud’s product roadmap by bringing field feedback back into the organization.
- Deliver white-glove implementation support for advanced AI systems in customer settings.
- Code, troubleshoot, and co-deliver bespoke agentic solutions with customers in a highly collaborative way.
What you need
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least eight years of software development experience, with Python or a comparable language.
- Experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data, using vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation-style architectures for enterprise AI.
- Experience bringing AI-driven products from concept through production launch, including designing systems on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience leading technical discovery sessions with customers.
- Fluency in French or German, because the role involves direct communication with local stakeholders in one of those languages.
- The ability to own outcomes, make decisions, solve unclear problems, and influence stakeholders at a senior level.
- A master’s degree or PhD in AI, computer science, or a related technical area is preferred.
- Experience building multi-agent systems with frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or ADK, along with familiarity with patterns like ReAct, self-reflection, and hierarchical delegation.
- Experience in post-sales delivery or technical consulting is preferred.
- Knowledge of LLM-native performance metrics such as tokens per second and cost per request, plus techniques for improving state management and detailed tracing.
- Strong communication skills and a history of helping technical teams adopt agentic AI at scale.
- English proficiency, which Google says is required for all roles unless the posting explicitly states otherwise.
What the role offers
- The chance to work on cutting-edge AI deployment challenges within Google Cloud Consulting.
- Access to Google’s advanced AI stack, including Gemini models and the Vertex AI platform.
- Collaboration with DeepMind engineering and research expertise.
- A highly collaborative environment with strong technical support and broad internal resources.
- The opportunity to influence customer success while also contributing to future product direction.
- The credibility and scale of Google’s global brand and cloud ecosystem.
