Arm is hiring an experienced software engineer to help shape the next generation of machine learning and artificial intelligence technology. This position sits within the companyâs expanding machine learning software organization and focuses on building the software that enables AI workloads to run efficiently on future accelerator designs. The role is based in Manchester or Cambridge in the United Kingdom and is part of Armâs software engineering function.
What the role involves
You will contribute to the design and development of new capabilities across Armâs machine learning software stack. The work spans several technical areas, including machine learning compilation technology, framework-level software, kernel and user-space driver components, real-time embedded software, automated testing, and performance evaluation. The position is suited to someone who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges and wants to influence how AI and ML systems are implemented on future hardware.
As a more senior engineer, you are expected to take ownership of larger pieces of work and provide guidance to less experienced team members. A key part of the job is collaborating closely with the machine learning hardware team so that software and hardware responsibilities are divided in the most effective way for the overall system. The role also calls for someone who can contribute ideas, challenge existing approaches, and help drive progress in a fast-paced environment.
Team and working environment
Arm describes this as a small-team environment where individual contributions have real impact. The company says you will work with highly skilled engineers and have the chance to learn from people building sector-leading products on Arm technology. The broader software engineering organization is presented as one that influences a wide range of computing areas, from compilers and AI-enabled IoT through to cloud, automotive, and other advanced technologies.
The company also emphasizes a collaborative culture built around diversity, equity, and inclusion. Arm says it values mutual respect and expects colleagues to work together in a way that supports extraordinary outcomes.
