Job Role Senior AI & Compute Systems Engineer, Workforce Development
Qualifications Bachelor’s
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Cambridge

This role sits within Arm’s Workforce Development group, which focuses on building technical capability across markets, partners, and institutions that work with Arm-based technologies. The position is aimed at someone who can help deliver and improve practical technical learning experiences around AI workloads, compute systems, and Arm platforms. The work is hands-on and centered on creating high-quality technical content that helps others gain real-world experience.

Arm’s broader mission in this area is to support the future of AI and compute across cloud and edge infrastructure, embedded systems, connected devices, and Arm-based silicon. In this role, you would contribute directly to that mission by helping technical communities develop practical skills and confidence through labs, demos, and applied exercises.

What you will be doing

  • Designing and delivering technical learning materials, hands-on labs, demonstrations, and practical exercises focused on AI workloads, compute systems, and Arm-based platforms.
  • Preparing lab environments, setup instructions, demo configurations, software environments, and practice activities, then testing and adapting them before delivery.
  • Working through technical issues that arise in tools, platforms, software stacks, lab setups, AI frameworks, or participant environments.
  • Partnering with technical specialists, product colleagues, external partners, and institutions to confirm setup needs, dependencies, and any delivery risks.
  • Improving labs, technical resources, setup guidance, and readiness checks based on feedback from delivery sessions.
  • Maintaining strong technical quality and accuracy across all delivered content, demonstrations, and practical activities.
  • Contributing from the outset with confident knowledge of Arm-based technologies, tools, platforms, or development environments.

What Arm is looking for

  • Strong practical knowledge of Arm-based technologies, tools, platforms, or development environments.
  • Technical grounding in areas such as AI and machine learning, compute systems, performance analysis, platform software, Arm development environments, software enablement, systems engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience supporting or delivering technical content, practical labs, demonstrations, engineering projects, developer enablement, or partner-facing technical work.
  • Hands-on understanding of AI and systems workflows, including model deployment, benchmarking, profiling, debugging, lab environments, cloud or edge setup, or performance analysis.
  • Ability to troubleshoot real-world technical problems in applied, lab-based, or partner-facing settings.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to different technical audiences.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and disciplined delivery habits.
  • A degree in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.

Desirable experience

  • Experience with AI workloads, edge AI, cloud AI infrastructure, model optimization, benchmarking, workload characterization, profiling, or performance analysis.
  • Experience using Arm-based platforms, Cortex processors, Neoverse, Arm development tools, Linux, Python, containers, cloud environments, or AI frameworks.
  • Experience improving labs, demos, setup guides, technical assets, readiness checks, or other technical resources used by partners.
  • Experience supporting technical activity across partners, institutions, regions, or other applied delivery environments.

Location and travel

The role is based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. It is described as a global position, and international travel is expected depending on partner engagement, technical activity, and program needs.
