This summer internship is part of BlackRock’s 2027 EMEA early careers programme and runs for eight weeks between June and August. It is built to give students a demanding, meaningful, and supportive experience that is intended to resemble the day-to-day life of a full-time BlackRock analyst as closely as possible. Interns begin with an orientation that provides a broad introduction to the firm and includes the chance to hear from senior leaders. After that, they receive practical training on the job and are expected to take on real responsibilities that help their teams throughout the summer.

The programme also includes additional development and networking opportunities. These include a speaker series, mentoring, and a range of events that allow interns to build connections, including activities with employee networks. BlackRock also notes that students who enjoy the internship should consider applying for the Full-Time Analyst Programme after completing the summer experience.

Who can apply

• Applicants must be in the penultimate year of their studies.
• Eligible candidates should be due to graduate in 2028 from either an undergraduate degree or a master’s degree programme.
• Students from any degree subject are welcome to apply.
• For roles based in Continental Europe, candidates need fluency in the local language.
• For Budapest, only English is required.
• For a Private Markets Investing position in Zurich, only English is required.

Application rules and process

• Candidates may apply to only one programme in this recruitment cycle, such as the Summer Internship Programme or the Quantitative Master’s Internship Programme.
• Within that chosen programme, applicants may select up to two functions.
• If an applicant withdraws their submission, they cannot apply again to the same programme during that year.
• After submitting an application, candidates receive an email inviting them to complete a pre-interview assessment.
• The pre-interview assessment must be completed within five days of the email being sent.
• If the assessment is not completed in time, the application is automatically withdrawn.
• Applications are reviewed as they come in, so early applications are encouraged.

• The programme is offered across the EMEA region.
