Bloomberg’s buy-side enterprise solutions are designed to help investment firms operate more efficiently across the full investment lifecycle. The platform combines automation, innovation, data access, and service to support clients in generating alpha, serving investors, staying compliant, and improving profitability as market conditions change. Its modular and flexible toolset is intended to fit different operating models, and the broader buy-side offering brings together front-to-back workflows spanning portfolio management, order and trade management, post-trade processing, compliance, risk, analytics, and performance. More than 200 buy-side clients and over 15,000 users rely on these applications, supported by Bloomberg’s market data and Terminal capabilities.

This role sits within the Buyside Product team and focuses on private markets and loans. The main objective is to help shape and deliver product execution for Bloomberg’s buyside solutions, with particular attention to direct lending and broadly syndicated loans. The position requires someone who understands the operational side of the loan investment lifecycle in depth, including security master setup and modeling, trading, settlement, positions, lifecycle events, and performance management. The role also involves helping define Bloomberg’s Total Portfolio View offering and ensuring that the company’s approach to loan support is consistent across the organization.

What you will do

  • Drive product execution for private markets and loans, with a focus on expanding Bloomberg’s coverage and workflows for direct lending and broadly syndicated loans.
  • Build a strong technical understanding of the buy-side product suite, especially the loan-related capabilities and coverage available across Bloomberg’s offerings.
  • Set clear, measurable milestones for the global delivery of the private markets and Total Portfolio View roadmap.
  • Write detailed functional specifications for each stage of product development, including objectives and key results where relevant.
  • Work closely with product managers and analysts, especially those in Enterprise Platforms, to keep priorities aligned and delivery coordinated.
  • Partner with product analysts and software engineers to document business requirements that extend asset-class coverage and workflows across Bloomberg’s buy-side applications.
  • Document client workflows and new product releases so that QA teams, sales teams, and customers have the information they need.
  • Take a hands-on role in product design, development, and delivery to help ensure successful outcomes.
  • Represent the product team in client discussions to understand expectations, identify workflow gaps, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide thought leadership on private asset classes and related workflows, helping build internal expertise and simplify complex ideas into clear, usable narratives.
  • Translate market expectations and industry concepts into technology and operating-model best practices that can be incorporated into product design.
  • Promote innovation and collaboration across internal stakeholders and clients while helping maintain a consistent approach to loan support across the business.

What the role requires

  • At least seven years of experience working with loans, both public and private, in an investment, middle-office, or service-provider setting.
  • Strong knowledge of private credit funds, BDCs, and evergreen structures.
  • Experience with investment technology solutions used by asset managers and asset owners, particularly for loan modeling, trading, and operations.
  • A solid grasp of capital markets and the investment lifecycle for private loans, including private credit and broadly syndicated loans.
  • Understanding of the institutional participants in this market, along with the risk, analytics, and portfolio management needs of private credit investment, operations, and risk teams.
  • A track record of using data and technology to create innovative solutions that are commercially practical.
  • Deep knowledge of the service-provider landscape for private and broadly syndicated loans, including clearing, settlement, agent banking, servicing, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred experience

  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg buyside products such as AIM, PORT, and MARS.
  • Experience using, implementing, or working with solutions from other providers.
  • Relationships with asset managers or asset owners involved in public and private credit investing or middle-market lending.
  • Knowledge of investment lifecycle and accounting workflows.
  • Experience leading organizations through change and introducing new ideas.
  • A highly motivated, collaborative approach with the ability to build consensus across teams and the wider business.
  • Professional qualifications such as CAIA, CFA, or the CFA Private Markets and Alternative Investments Certificate.
