In this role, you would join the Fixed Income Data team, which focuses on publishing newly issued bonds on time and keeping bond data current throughout the life of each security. The team also develops automated ingestion and publication pipelines, improves the primary markets dataset, and looks for ways to expand the data offering through client engagement. It works closely with internal users of the data, including the News, Evaluated Pricing, and Index teams, and partners heavily with Product, Sales, and Engineering.

What the role involves

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with banks, third-party providers, and industry groups to support the accurate, consistent, and high-quality collection of corporate bond data.
  • Use strategic thinking and a strong understanding of clients to help shape the direction of the new-issues data product.
  • Work alongside technical partners in Data and Engineering to solve problems and continuously improve the value of the corporate bond data offering.
  • Identify new content partners and other opportunities that can broaden and complement the dataset.
  • As a senior member of the corporate bonds team, help guide, mentor, and develop colleagues.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of automated solutions for data ingestion, standardization, and enrichment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on API development and help demonstrate those capabilities to clients.
  • Work with a broad mix of external partners and internal teams, including Engineering, Product, and Sales, on strategic product development and execution.
  • Define, measure, and manage the impact of your work using statistics and data-visualization tools.
  • Build robust data-quality workflows that verify and validate third-party data.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, including senior executives, making sure information is presented clearly and in a way that is meaningful to them.

What you need

  • Five or more years of fixed income market experience in either a buy-side or sell-side environment, along with a strong understanding of primary market data processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially when it comes to improving processes and workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical processes and solutions to business partners and management.
  • High attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multi-functional team setting.
  • Proven ability to influence others and lead change.
  • Agile or Scrum project management experience is desirable.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or QlikSense is also desirable.
  • Bloomberg notes that the stated years of experience are only a guide and that applicants who can demonstrate the necessary skills will still be considered.
