It also coordinates closely with teams across the company, including Bloomberg Intelligence, BloombergNEF, Enterprise Data, Engineering, Global Data, Legal and Compliance, and Sales.
This role is for a strategically minded Product Manager who can help build and scale Bloombergâs sustainability data products focused on regulation-aligned and thematic solutions. The work is aimed at creating smooth, practical workflows for sustainability-focused users and firms by developing content that supports the full investment process, from screening and research through portfolio construction, risk management, regulatory reporting, and client communication.
Role focus
The position centers on sustainability datasets and thematic investing solutions that align with changing regulations and investor needs. The product area includes datasets and analytics connected to major sustainability frameworks such as EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD, and SDR. It also covers thematic datasets that help users understand targeted exposure, alignment, or impact related to sustainability themes. Examples include themes linked to social and human capital, sustainable revenues, and other ESG-related areas that matter to investors.
As Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and supporting Bloombergâs regulatory and thematic sustainability data solutions for Terminal and Enterprise clients. That means turning evolving regulatory requirements, sustainability themes, investment use cases, and market demand into scalable product specifications, methodologies, data models, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
What you will do
- Shape and communicate the product vision, strategy, business plan, and success measures for Bloombergâs regulation-linked and thematic sustainability data offerings.
- Lead the development of sustainability data products tied to frameworks such as EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD, and SDR.
- Translate changing regulatory requirements, client workflows, market demand, and investment use cases into scalable product specifications, methodologies, data models, and platform features.
- Spot opportunities to broaden Bloombergâs sustainability offering through thematic datasets that provide exposure, alignment, or impact insights connected to sustainability themes.
- Prepare strong communication materials such as vision documents, product plans, roadmap materials, and executive updates to keep stakeholders aligned.
- Keep regular communication flowing across Product, Data, Engineering, Research, Legal and Compliance, Sales, and other stakeholders so that priorities remain aligned.
- Develop a deep understanding of user groups and workflows across the sustainable finance ecosystem.
- Build and maintain relationships across the market, including with clients, industry participants, and regulators.
- Work with cross-functional partners to design, build, and launch regulatory and thematic sustainability data products and analytics.
- Create product requirements and methodologies that support client needs across regulation, thematic investing, screening, portfolio analysis, reporting, and Enterprise Data consumption.
- Drive the roadmap for thematic sustainability solutions and prioritize enhancements using client demand, competitive intelligence, data availability, and commercial opportunity as inputs.
- Make sure Bloombergâs sustainability data products are scalable, transparent, auditable, interoperable, and consistent across the sustainability and climate product platforms.
- Work closely with Data and Engineering through refinement sessions, planning, retrospectives, demos, and release cycles so that deliverables are clearly defined and aligned with business goals.
- Set priorities and make informed trade-offs across competing opportunities while balancing technical, data, methodological, commercial, and resource constraints.
- Support launch readiness and go-to-market execution through product documentation, methodology transparency, client-facing materials, training, and internal enablement.
- Design product development processes that encourage collaboration across Product, Data, Engineering, Research, Legal and Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders.
- Partner with Engineering and Data Operations to ensure deliverables are well understood, technically feasible, properly governed, and aligned with business goals.
- Work with Marketing, Sales, and client-facing teams to position, promote, and increase adoption of Bloombergâs regulatory and thematic sustainability solutions.
- Engage with clients to validate workflows, test product ideas, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to differentiate the offering.
- Coordinate across Bloombergâs sustainability and climate product platforms to ensure interoperability, consistency, and a seamless client experience.
