This role sits within Amazonâs operations organisation and is focused on leading a sizeable, diverse team in a fast-moving environment where the work must continually keep pace with customer demand. It is a practical, hands-on position that gives you exposure to the complexity of running operations at a global business and to the discipline required to keep processes running smoothly. You will be expected to balance team leadership, operational execution, and continuous improvement, while working closely with colleagues to solve problems and respond to changing priorities.

- Handle a mix of people management, administrative duties, and day-to-day operational coordination while contributing to a positive team environment.
- Examine performance data and recommend improvements that make work more efficient and improve the customer experience.
- Partner with other managers to bring consistency to shift processes and ways of working.

- Use data and performance measures with business leaders to understand how the operation is performing.
- Discuss technical improvements with engineers, weighing up the operational benefits and trade-offs.
What the role looks like day to day
You will be based at one of Amazonâs operational sites and work on shifts. A major part of the job is maintaining safety standards within your team and across the site, while also keeping an eye on process efficiency. Your day will typically involve a combination of routine management tasks, operational problem-solving, escalation handling, process improvement work, and planning for wider operational disruptions or contingencies. Because the role is part of the operations function, you will regularly collaborate with people in other teams and with outside partners to help the business stay on track and meet customer expectations.
What you need
- A bachelorâs degree, or an MBA, in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources, or a related field.
- Confident English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to work smoothly with stakeholders at all levels.
- For preferred applicants, a bachelorâs degree completed within the last 12 months in engineering, technology, science, operations research, robotics, mathematics, or a similar subject, or an associateâs degree together with experience working for Amazon or an Amazon subsidiary or affiliate.
- Experience explaining complex ideas clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in environments such as manufacturing, production, distribution logistics, retail, or grocery management.
- Professional experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
