The Retail Supply Chain Initiatives team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join a collaborative, inventive, and fast-moving environment where uncertainty is normal and strong analytical thinking makes a real difference. The role focuses on building and improving analytical models that support decision-making across European supply chain operations. The position may be based in either London or Luxembourg.

What you will be doing

  • Design, support, and improve data pipelines, analytical models, and dashboards used by a range of stakeholders across the business.
  • Convert complicated data into clear, practical insights and communicate those findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Use evidence from data to challenge assumptions in a constructive way and help teams make better decisions.

  • Build and maintain ETL workflows and data models that support analytics for EU supply chain activity.
  • Create dashboards and reporting outputs for retail stakeholders, making sure information is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Carry out detailed investigations into supply chain metrics to uncover root causes and produce actionable recommendations.
  • Automate recurring reporting tasks and data-quality validation checks to reduce manual effort.
  • Work closely with senior business intelligence engineers and product managers to turn business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Document data sources, assumptions, and analytical methods so business users can make more use of self-service reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of the team’s analytics approach, including work toward AI-enabled, conversational data experiences that may take the place of traditional dashboards.

Team context

The Retail Supply Chain Initiatives team aims to make EU retail inbound supply chains the most cost-efficient and partner-friendly integrated network possible. The BI function within the team provides the analytical foundation for that mission, delivering timely and useful insights through dashboards, financial reporting, and data products. These outputs support more than 4,000 users across the EU stores organization.

  • Experience working with large datasets, whether gained in a professional setting or through academic work.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain the meaning behind the data.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and a willingness to ask questions that help define the problem clearly.
  • A team-oriented mindset, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning from experienced colleagues.

Basic qualifications

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data using technologies such as Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, or similar systems.
  • Experience building visualizations with Tableau, QuickSight, or comparable tools.
  • Experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, or Power BI, together with statistical methods such as t-tests and chi-squared tests.
  • Experience using a scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, or R.
  • Strong SQL skills.
