Partner Forward Deployed Engineer III, Generative AI French, German Overview

Company Name Google
Job Role Partner Forward Deployed Engineer III, Generative AI French, German
Qualifications Bachelor’s
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

This position sits within Google Cloud’s go-to-market organization and focuses on helping customers turn advanced generative AI ideas into working business solutions. The role is centered on bridging the gap between Google’s AI products and real customer environments, using technical depth to move projects from early prototypes into dependable systems that can operate at scale. It is aimed at someone who can combine software engineering, machine learning infrastructure knowledge, and customer-facing technical leadership to help organizations adopt AI successfully.

The broader context for the role is Google Cloud’s mission to help businesses succeed through AI. The team works with cutting-edge models, large-scale infrastructure, and a collaborative engineering culture that values speed, ownership, and practical problem solving. The position also offers close access to DeepMind expertise and Google’s advanced AI stack, including Gemini models and the Vertex AI platform.

What you will do

  • Lead development work on complex AI applications, taking them from rapid experimentation into robust, production-ready agentic systems such as multi-agent workflows and model context protocol servers that generate measurable business impact.
  • Build the technical integration layer that connects Google’s AI capabilities with customer systems, including APIs, older data sources, and security-controlled environments.
  • Develop evaluation pipelines and observability tooling that allow agent-based systems to be tested and monitored for accuracy, safety, and low latency.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and patterns seen in customer engagements, then translate those findings into reusable building blocks or product improvement requests for Google’s engineering teams.
  • Partner with customer engineering teams to introduce strong engineering practices and help ensure long-term success, maintainability, and adoption of the solutions being built.

What the role requires

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least two years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or one year of experience if supported by an advanced degree.
  • At least one year of experience working with machine learning infrastructure, including areas such as deployment, evaluation, optimization, data processing, or debugging.
  • Experience with generative AI techniques or related concepts, such as large language models, multimodal systems, large vision models, language modeling, or computer vision.
  • Fluency in French and German, with the ability to use both languages for client relationship management in the region.
  • English fluency, since Google states that English is required for all roles unless the posting says otherwise.

Preferred background and technical strengths

  • A master’s degree or PhD in AI, computer science, or another related technical field.
  • Experience building multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or Google’s Agent Development Kit.
  • Familiarity with advanced orchestration approaches including ReAct, self-reflection, and hierarchical delegation.
  • Knowledge of LLM-oriented performance metrics such as tokens per second and cost per request, along with techniques for improving state management and detailed tracing.
  • Ability to design secure agentic workflows that incorporate MCP, tool calling, and OAuth-based authentication.

Team and working environment

This is a mid-level role, meaning Google is looking for someone who can make progress independently, solve difficult problems, and help mentor more junior team members. The work is described as highly collaborative and customer-facing, with direct interaction across engineering teams and access to specialists inside Google and DeepMind. The role is based in London, UK.

Why this role may appeal to you

  • You will work on advanced AI products that are intended to help businesses succeed in practical, measurable ways.
  • You will have access to Google’s frontier AI models and the Vertex AI platform.
  • You will collaborate with highly specialized internal experts, including DeepMind engineers and researchers.
  • You will help shape how enterprise customers adopt generative AI and agentic systems.
  • You will be part of a culture that emphasizes action, ownership, and building at scale.
