This position is for a senior client-facing AI consulting and architecture role based in London. The work centers on designing and delivering advanced Generative AI and agentic AI solutions for enterprise clients, with a strong emphasis on practical implementation, measurable business outcomes, and responsible deployment. The role sits within the companyâs AI and automation centre of excellence, where the team helps clients define AI roadmaps, improve productivity, and realize business value through automation, AI, and GenAI.
What the role involves
- Partner with client business teams to uncover needs, clarify desired outcomes, and translate those discussions into technical requirements and solution designs.
- Create complete AI solution architectures that cover model selection, data requirements, deployment approach, and implementation planning.
- Design Generative AI and agentic systems using suitable orchestration frameworks, retrieval strategies, MCP-based integrations, and reusable skills, while also accounting for reliability, safety, human oversight, and production scalability.
- Work with clients to define success measures and ensure the delivered solution is evaluated against agreed business metrics.
- Advise internal delivery teams on implementation details and collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers to integrate the solution effectively.
- Set up monitoring for deployed models and applications, review how they perform in production, and recommend improvements based on observed results.
- Act as the communication link between clients and internal teams throughout the engagement, keeping stakeholders informed and addressing questions or concerns.
- Support the broader delivery lifecycle by applying knowledge of data preparation, feature engineering, data quality, governance, and responsible AI practices.
- Contribute to evaluation, observability, tracing, and optimization so that AI systems improve in quality, safety, cost efficiency, and latency over time.
- Bring a consultative, customer-oriented approach that helps clients shape AI roadmaps and achieve productivity and business gains.
Technical focus and expertise expected
The role calls for deep experience in Generative AI, including modern foundation models such as transformer-based large language models, diffusion models, and multimodal models, along with earlier architectures like GANs and VAEs. Candidates should be able to apply these methods to real-world use cases involving text, code, image, and multimodal generation.
Strong hands-on knowledge is expected in current GenAI development practices, including advanced prompt design, structured outputs, tool and function calling, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, and Semantic Kernel. Experience with both commercial model APIs and open-source LLMs is also important, including platforms and models such as Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama, and Mistral.
The position also requires practical experience with autonomous and multi-agent systems. This includes designing systems that can reason, plan, and act with tools, and familiarity with patterns such as ReAct, planning, reflection, tool use, and human-in-the-loop workflows. Experience with frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, MAF, the OpenAI Agents SDK, and Googleâs Agent Development Kit is specifically relevant.
Another major area of focus is the Model Context Protocol and related interoperability standards. The role expects an understanding of how MCP enables secure, standardized connections between models or agents and external tools, data sources, and systems, plus the ability to build and consume MCP servers and clients and work with MCP tools, resources, and prompts.
Experience extending agent capabilities through modular skills is also important. This includes designing reusable instructions, scripts, and resources that agents can load when needed, as well as building custom tools and connectors that let agents perform specialized tasks reliably and safely.
Retrieval-augmented generation and knowledge-grounded systems are another core requirement. The role expects experience with chunking strategies, embeddings, vector databases, hybrid search, reranking, and retrieval evaluation, as well as familiarity with advanced approaches such as GraphRAG and agentic RAG to improve grounding and reduce hallucinations.
Broader technical knowledge is also required across machine learning, data science, cloud platforms, NLP, computer vision, robotics-related AI topics, and data ethics. The posting lists familiarity with common ML algorithms, data science libraries, cloud environments, transformer-based NLP, vision models, reinforcement learning, motion planning, and fairness and bias considerations.
In addition, the role expects knowledge of LLM and foundation-model concepts such as context windows, tokenization, fine-tuning approaches like LoRA and PEFT, and RLHF/RLAIF. It also calls for familiarity with LLM application and agent frameworks, integration patterns such as MCP and tool calling, cloud AI services and model hosting platforms, vector databases, and MLOps/LLMOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, FastAPI, CI/CD, observability, tracing, evaluation tooling, guardrails, and prompt/version management.
Responsible AI is a recurring theme throughout the role. The candidate should understand bias, hallucination mitigation, evaluation, privacy, security, governance, and compliance considerations for enterprise AI and agentic systems, and be able to design solutions that reflect those concerns from the outset.
Experience and personal qualities
The role is framed as a consultant-level position and is also described as an AI Evangelist / Senior Technology Architect, so it is aimed at someone with substantial senior technical depth and strong client-facing capability. The posting also highlights the need for excellent verbal and written communication, especially when explaining technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and working across functions.
Secondary strengths that would help in the role include familiarity with the business domain in which the AI solution will be applied, basic project management skills, a solid understanding of data preprocessing and feature engineering, and awareness of AI governance and emerging regulation.
From a personal perspective, the company says it values analytical thinking, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, customer orientation, teamwork, quality awareness, transparency, integrity, accountability, and strong communication.
About the team and organization
The role sits within the Topaz Centre of Excellence, described as the companyâs central AI and automation evangelization unit. The teamâs mission is to help the organization become AI-first and to position it as a leader in AI and GenAI by enabling clients to achieve productivity gains and business benefits through automation and AI-driven differentiation.
The organization says it has a large internal AI capability, including thousands of AI assets, more than a hundred pre-trained models, and multiple AI platforms supported by AI-first specialists and data strategists. It also emphasizes a responsible-by-design approach that prioritizes ethics, trust, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
The wider company describes itself as a global digital services and consulting business operating across many countries, supporting clients through cloud and AI-led transformation. It also states that it is committed to merit-based employment, diversity, inclusion, and a well-governed and environmentally sustainable workplace.
