Corporate & Strategic – Human Resources – 2027 Summer Internship Program Overview

Company Name Blackrock
Job Role Corporate & Strategic – Human Resources – 2027 Summer Internship Program
Qualifications Bachelor’s
Category Finance Jobs
Job Type Internship
Location London

This internship is part of BlackRock’s 2027 Summer Internship Programme for the EMEA region. It is an eight-week summer placement running from June through August and is intended to give students a demanding, meaningful, and well-supported experience that closely reflects what it is like to work as a full-time BlackRock analyst. The programme is built to combine orientation, practical training, direct contribution to team work, and access to learning and networking opportunities.

Programme overview

The internship begins with an orientation session that introduces the firm in depth and gives interns the chance to hear from senior leaders. After that, interns move into day-to-day team work and receive on-the-job training so they can contribute meaningfully throughout the summer. The programme also includes a speaker series, mentoring, and a range of networking opportunities, including activities with employee networks. If the experience is a strong fit, interns are encouraged to consider applying for the Full-Time Analyst Programme after the internship.

What you will do

  • Join an eight-week summer internship from June to August and take part in a programme designed to mirror a full-time analyst experience as closely as possible.
  • Attend an introductory orientation that provides a broad understanding of the firm and includes sessions with senior leaders.
  • Receive practical training on the job and take on everyday responsibilities that support your team’s work.
  • Contribute actively to the team during the internship rather than simply observing.
  • Take part in programme events such as speaker sessions, mentoring, and networking activities.
  • Engage with employee networks and use the programme to build connections across the firm.
  • Explore the possibility of moving on to the Full-Time Analyst Programme after the internship if you want to continue with BlackRock.

Who can apply

  • Applicants should be in the penultimate year of their studies and due to graduate in 2028.
  • The opportunity is open to students from any degree discipline; there is no restriction to a particular subject area.
  • For roles based in Continental Europe, candidates must be fluent in the local language of the relevant location.
  • For Budapest, English is the only language requirement.
  • For roles in Private Markets Investing in Zurich, English is also the only language requirement.
  • Candidates may apply to only one programme in the year, although they can select up to two functions within that programme.
  • If applying for two functions, both must be submitted through the same programme application.
  • Once an application is withdrawn, the candidate cannot submit another application to this programme during the same year.

Application process and deadlines

After submitting an application, candidates receive an email inviting them to complete a pre-interview assessment. This assessment must be completed within five days; otherwise, the application will be automatically withdrawn. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.

Location-specific deadlines are listed for the programme: London, Edinburgh, Paris, and Zurich close on 30 September 2026; Milan and Amsterdam close on 30 October 2026; Frankfurt, Munich, and Copenhagen close on 13 November 2026; and Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, and Riyadh close on 31 January 2027.

Locations and programme context

The internship is available across the EMEA region, with countries including Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Cities listed for the programme include Amsterdam, Belgrade, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dubai, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Paris, Riyadh, Stockholm, and Zurich.

Pay, inclusion, and support

BlackRock notes that salary ranges for applicable business areas and locations are available in the EMEA 2027 Internship Salary Ranges document, in line with EU pay transparency requirements. The firm also states that it is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to fair treatment in hiring and employment. It further says that it evaluates qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics and provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the hiring process.

If you need a reasonable accommodation because of a disability at any stage of the employment process, you can contact [email protected] and include the nature of your request along with your contact details.

Additional notes

BlackRock encourages early applications because review happens on a rolling basis. The page also reminds candidates that they must use the same programme application if they are applying to more than one function within the internship programme.
