Job Type Full Time

This role sits within AWS Infrastructure Services and supports the delivery and operation of Amazon’s global data center network environment. The team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and ongoing operation of the infrastructure that keeps AWS running, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems. The position is aimed at someone who is highly motivated, comfortable working with limited supervision, and able to contribute to the stability and growth of next-generation networks as the business expands.

The work is centered on network deployment across multiple data center locations. The successful candidate will help deliver hardware, configuration, and fiber connectivity for scaling projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to keep installations on track and ensure smooth project execution. The role requires a practical, hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative environment where priorities can change.

What you will do

  • Install and deploy network equipment across data center sites, including switches, routers, patch panels, and optical distribution frames, following approved designs and site safety rules.
  • Carry out rack, stack, and cabling work for network hardware as part of interdependent infrastructure projects.
  • Complete device turn-up activities using standard build templates, including firmware updates, configuration steps, and validation of end-to-end connectivity.
  • Support the delivery of fiber connectivity and structured cabling work, ensuring installations meet technical and operational standards.
  • Work with external vendors to coordinate equipment arrival, installation support, and resolution of warranty issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Design, Capacity Planning, Operations, and Technical Program Managers to support project delivery.
  • Maintain clear and accurate deployment records and follow formal change management processes.
  • Perform checks before and after deployment to confirm quality and support a defect-free handover to operations.
  • Identify risks, blockers, and process gaps, then recommend improvements that reduce rework and improve efficiency.
  • Follow data center safety procedures and environmental guidelines while contributing to reliable, scalable network operations.
  • Use established best practices while also helping refine operational procedures and develop new tooling or automation where appropriate.

What the role involves day to day

This position supports data centers at different stages of operation. You may need to travel between sites or commute to active facilities depending on business needs. During training, or until the assigned facility becomes operational, you may be asked to work temporarily at another location. Travel requirements will vary based on operational demand and the status of the site you are supporting. Candidates must be able to travel more than 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites when required.
