An opportunity has opened up for a senior-level electronics engineer to join a growing technology business in Cambridge. The position focuses on the design, development, and verification of advanced electronic systems that are used in demanding, high-performance, and mission-critical environments. The role covers the full hardware lifecycle, from early concept work through to production, and requires close collaboration with engineers from several disciplines to deliver dependable, high-quality outcomes.
What you will do
- Take the lead on the design and development of analogue, digital, and mixed-signal electronic hardware.
- Carry out schematic capture, PCB design work, and component selection for new hardware solutions.
- Support prototype builds, hardware bring-up, debugging, and laboratory validation activities.
- Work alongside systems, software, RF, and mechanical engineering colleagues to ensure the overall product integrates successfully.
- Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, and compliance-related work.
- Own hardware design activity from concept stage through to production, with a focus on robust and reliable delivery.
What the employer is looking for
- A degree in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar subject, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong practical background in electronic circuit design, PCB development, and lab-based validation.
- Experience with high-speed digital electronics, RF systems, or defence-related applications would be beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take technical ownership of work.
- Comfort working in a collaborative environment with multiple engineering disciplines.
