Senior IC Test Engineer Overview

An international employer is looking for an experienced Senior IC Test Engineer to join its semiconductor team in Bristol. This position focuses on building, deploying, and improving test solutions for integrated circuits, with a strong emphasis on the Advantest V93000 platform. The work covers the full journey from early silicon assessment through to mass production, and includes both wafer and package testing. The role also involves characterisation, qualification, and ongoing production support, including collaboration with offshore OSAT partners.

What you will do

• Design and develop hardware and software-based test solutions for wafer-level and package-level semiconductor testing.
• Work closely with design, product, validation, and applications teams to review and assess new IC designs.
• Support Design for Test activities, along with characterisation, reliability, and qualification testing.
• Deploy test solutions at offshore manufacturing locations and provide support once they are in use.
• Improve test programmes to raise yield, cut test duration, and make manufacturing more efficient.
• Join design and test review meetings and contribute technical reports and updates.

What the employer is looking for

• Strong practical experience in semiconductor ATE testing.
• Experience with the Advantest V93000 test system is preferred.
• Background in testing high-speed mixed-signal ICs.
• Knowledge of high-speed PCB design and schematic development.
• Experience supporting offshore test or production operations.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar subject.
