The successful person will take ownership of the technical direction and architectural roadmap for an advanced modelling environment built to assess end-to-end AI inference performance. What you will do
- Set and maintain the long-range technical roadmap for an enterprise-level platform focused on performance modelling.
- Connect semiconductor hardware engineering, systems software, and deep learning workload development so the overall architecture remains coherent and effective.
- Create and implement validation methods and engineering standards that support high performance across multiple technical teams.
- Act as the main technical representative for the programme, explaining complex infrastructure and architecture topics to executives and external collaborators in a clear and credible way.
- Lead and mentor a talented group of systems and research engineers, helping to build a collaborative, innovative engineering environment.
What the employer is looking for
- A postgraduate qualification, ideally a PhD, or equivalent research-oriented industry experience.
- Background in computer science, computer architecture, or another highly quantitative engineering discipline.
- A strong history of leading complex engineering work with major impact, from early prototype stages through to robust deployment.
- Deep technical knowledge of GPU architectures, memory bandwidth limitations, and simulation of large-scale workloads.
- Helpful additional experience in distributed inference frameworks, cluster optimisation, data centre systems, or open-source systems software.
- Confidence in engaging with senior executives and external partners on highly technical subjects.
- Experience operating at a senior level in advanced engineering, AI infrastructure, or related technical leadership roles.
