This graduate rotational programme is designed to give you broad, practical exposure to client-facing and product-focused work within a global investment firm. Over 2.5 years, you will rotate across teams in Client Business and Global Product Solutions, learning how client needs are understood, how investment solutions are developed, and how ideas move from early concept through to delivery in the market. The role is intended to build a strong foundation in asset management while also developing transferable skills that are valuable well beyond finance.
You will gain experience working alongside relationship management and investment product specialists, contributing to work that connects client insight, market understanding, and product innovation. The programme is structured to help you learn how to manage projects, communicate with stakeholders, analyse information, and turn data into action. It is aimed at people who are curious, motivated, and eager to build a long-term career in a client and product environment.
What you will do in Client Business
In the Client Business rotations, you will learn how client relationships are built and maintained, how partnerships are grown, and how client and investment teams work together to create solutions that meet real needs. You will develop a practical understanding of how major investors think, how markets affect portfolios, and how different client groups shape the way the business operates.
- Support client meetings by helping with logistics, preparing materials, taking notes, and following up on actions or questions.
- Take part in outreach activity, including small campaigns such as inviting advisers to webinars or other events connected to product launches.
- Help create pitch materials and client-facing content that present data, insights, and investment ideas in a clear and compelling way.
- Review sales and client data to identify trends, such as which fund types are growing fastest in a particular market, and share your findings with the team.
- Learn how institutional investors such as pension funds and insurers make decisions, assess performance, and manage risk.
- Build an understanding of market movements by following financial news and internal research and considering how those changes affect client portfolios.
- Develop knowledge of BlackRockâs product range, including funds, ETFs, and tailored solutions, and learn how different offerings are matched to different client goals.
- Use the tools and systems that support client work, including relationship management platforms and Aladdin, BlackRockâs proprietary portfolio analysis technology.
- Strengthen your communication skills by learning how to tailor messages for different audiences and write concise, effective follow-up communications.
- Build awareness of the ethical and regulatory standards that govern client work, with an emphasis on acting with integrity and putting clients first.
- Expand your professional network by attending events, conferences, and meetings across the industry.
Examples of the kind of work you may be involved in include managing the practical side of client meetings, helping organise a webinar for advisers, preparing charts and insights for a pitch deck, and analysing sales data to understand which products are gaining momentum.
What you will do in Global Product Solutions
In the Global Product Solutions rotations, you will work across the full range of products, from iShares ETFs and mutual funds to private markets. This part of the programme focuses on how products are designed, positioned, launched, and improved, and how research and market insight are used to shape decisions.
- Learn the fundamentals of investment products, including how ETFs work, why investors use them, and what differentiates one strategy from another.
- Help translate complex market information into practical guidance on topics such as risk reduction and income generation.
- Follow the full product lifecycle, from idea generation and design through regulation, naming, launch, and sales strategy.
- Coordinate with legal, operations, compliance, and other teams to keep product projects moving and on schedule.
- Support the launch or ongoing management of products by tracking timelines, checking tasks off, and helping ensure the process runs smoothly.
- Learn how to position products in the market by shaping messaging, identifying target audiences, and choosing the right communication channels.
- Carry out research into market trends, competitor offerings, and product performance to identify opportunities and inform recommendations.
- Use analytical tools, including Aladdin, to review portfolio performance and suggest possible improvements or adjustments.
- Contribute to the development of new product ideas by researching demand, audience fit, and market opportunity for concepts such as thematic or specialist ETFs.
- Draft written materials such as fund factsheets and internal briefings that explain a productâs purpose, appeal, and key features in a way that is easy to understand.
- Think creatively about future product opportunities, including ideas that support industry transitions such as the move toward lower-carbon economies.
Examples of the work you may do in this rotation include helping manage a product launch timeline, becoming a subject-matter resource on a specific investment, analysing portfolio performance to suggest changes, researching whether there is demand for a new ETF concept, and drafting the first version of a factsheet or internal note.
What the programme is designed to teach you
Across both areas, the programme is intended to help you build a wide range of skills and knowledge. You will learn how to understand the needs of large investors, how markets influence portfolios, how products are created and brought to market, and how to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. You will also gain experience in project coordination, research, analysis, and presenting information in a way that supports decision-making.
The programme is intentionally different from a standard full-time analyst path. You will not select one specific team before starting. Instead, you will move between multiple teams over the course of the 2.5-year programme, giving you a broad view of how client work and product work connect and how they contribute to the wider business.
Who should apply
The programme is looking for smart, curious candidates who want to learn, grow, and contribute energy to a client and product environment. Successful applicants are likely to bring a genuine interest in financial markets and asset management, along with the ability to think analytically, communicate clearly, and work well with others.
- Interest in financial markets and asset management.

- Ability to make sense of complex data and turn it into useful insight.
