This summer internship programme is an eight-week experience running from June to August across the EMEA region. It is built to give students a demanding, meaningful, and well-supported introduction to life at BlackRock, with the structure and expectations designed to resemble the role of a full-time analyst as closely as possible.

The internship begins with an orientation that provides a broad introduction to the firm and includes the chance to hear directly from senior leaders. After that, interns move into practical, day-to-day work and receive on-the-job training so they can make real contributions to their teams throughout the summer. The programme also includes a speaker series, mentoring, and a range of networking opportunities, including activities connected to employee networks.

What the internship involves

• Joining an eight-week summer programme from June through August.

Who can apply

• Applicants must be in their penultimate year of study.
• Eligible candidates should be due to graduate in 2028 from either an undergraduate degree or a master’s degree programme.
• Students from any subject area are welcome to apply.
• Language requirements depend on location: local language fluency is needed for Continental Europe roles.
• For Budapest, English is sufficient.
• For a role in Private Markets Investing in Zurich, English is also sufficient.

Application rules and next steps

• Each candidate may apply to only one programme in this internship cycle.
• Within that single programme, applicants may select up to two functions.
• Both function choices must be submitted through the same programme application.
• If an applicant withdraws their submission, they cannot reapply to the same programme later in the year.
• After applying, candidates will receive an email asking them to complete a pre-interview assessment.
• The pre-interview assessment must be completed within five days of receiving it, otherwise the application will be withdrawn automatically.
• Applications are considered on a rolling basis, so early submission is recommended.
