This is a 12-month placement opportunity in BlackRock’s EMEA early careers programme. It is designed for students who are due to graduate in 2029 and whose degree requires them to complete a long-term internship or placement. The role gives you the chance to work closely with a dedicated team, contribute to meaningful work, and gain first-hand exposure to BlackRock’s culture and approach. Over the course of the placement, you will build new skills, deepen your understanding of the asset management industry, and develop practical experience that can support your future career.

What the placement involves

  • You will be placed with a specific team and work alongside them for the full 12-month period.
  • You will help the team progress its objectives and add value through your day-to-day contribution.
  • You will gain exposure to the wider culture and ethos of BlackRock while learning how the business operates.
  • You will have the opportunity to develop new skills and build experience in asset management.
  • At the end of the placement, you may choose to apply for BlackRock’s Full-Time Analyst Programme.

Application rules and process

  • Candidates may apply to only one programme type in the same year, for example either the Placement Programme or the Summer Internship Programme.
  • Within that chosen programme, applicants can select up to two functions.
  • The application for both selected opportunities must be submitted through the same programme application.
  • If you withdraw your application, you will not be able to submit another application for this programme during the same year.
  • After submitting your application, you will receive an email asking you to complete a pre-interview assessment.
  • You must finish that assessment within five days of receiving it.
  • If the assessment is not completed in time, the application will be automatically withdrawn.
  • Applications are reviewed as they come in, so BlackRock encourages candidates to apply early.
  • The application deadline is 30 September 2026.
